Keith Andrews, wine consultant for Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe reflects on  his adventures in wine this August. It’s been a busy month.

As we strive to keep our wine list current, eclectic and good value for money we’ve been hunting high and low for some traditional White Rioja Perfect for the balmy summer evenings, we’ve been sampling a delicious selection and look forward to introducing something new to the wine list soon.

We’ve also been down to Weymouth supporting Ara Wines, sampling a plethora of wines and spirits perfectly complemented with fresh seafood. A particular sparkling wonder, One Estate Sauvignon Brut caught our attention, something familiar but refreshingly different; perfect for our wine list.

From the South coast to the Northern Hemisphere, we were treated to an exceptional evening of Chinese cuisine at My Old Place. Joined by our suppliers Hallgarten Druit we spent the evening working our way through most of the menu (and the wine list!) and have finalised the details for the next wine dinner for Swan Wine Club members. In partnership with Hallgerten Druit, join us on the 28th August in the Swan Restaurant to sample a selection from Chateau Campuget. Get in touch about our upcoming wine dinners by clicking here.

On a final note, our wine of the week has to be Rufus & Rogers Barossa Valley Rose, by Yalumba Winemakers. Make sure you join us in the Swan Bar next Friday 29th August from 6pm where we’ll be sampling 6 magnums of the stuff. Now that’s how to start the weekend!

Currently drinking: I am besotted at the moment with the Rufus & Rogers Barossa Valley Rosé that we list.
